Project management
The Project Management (PM) department links strategy to the day-to-day running of the Centre. We take care of project management, business development, finance, HR, quality, marketing and technical and legal background. We provide effective support to all HiLASE departments to keep everything running as it should. We are a stable support and growth engine – and we go all out.
HR TEAM
People come first at HiLASE. Our HR team ensures that everyone feels supported, valued, and equipped to grow, from recruitment and onboarding to development and everyday care.
We act as a bridge between people and the organization, connecting colleagues across teams and listening closely to their needs and ideas. We regularly collect feedback and, together with management, turn it into concrete actions to improve our workplace and company culture.
We develop and implement strategies in learning, rewards, performance, and culture, and we serve as a strategic partner to leadership. We strive to foster an open and friendly atmosphere where respect, trust, and individual approach are key.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and PR & MARKETING TEAM
Our team fosters innovation and drives HiLASE’s growth by identifying new markets, partnerships, and revenue opportunities. We enhance HiLASE’s visibility through research-based marketing strategies and effective branding across all channels.
The team develops marketing strategies and campaigns based on research to promote HiLASE’s products and services. It manages the institute’s branding and public image, ensuring consistent communication across all channels. The team builds strong relationships with key clients and partners, creates marketing materials, manages digital content and social media, and oversees both online and offline advertising activities.
In addition, the team supports innovation and business growth by managing the patent process and maintaining HiLASE’s IP portfolio. It collaborates with researchers to identify and protect new ideas, assess their commercial potential, and decide on licensing or further development. The team also leads strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and negotiations to strengthen HiLASE’s market position and secure mutually beneficial agreements.
IT TEAM
We are the nervous system of our research institution. Connecting cutting-edge science with state-of-the-art technologies, our IT department goes far beyond support. We collaborate closely with researchers to transform scientific visions into practical solutions.
In our IT team, we try to push technological boundaries every day. We blend deep technical expertise with an innovation-first approach. Be it deploying cutting-edge containerized applications, managing complex infrastructure from physical hardware to cloud environments, or developing advanced AI solutions directly supporting our researchers. We understand technology from the smallest chip to the highest levels of cloud abstraction, knowing precisely how to integrate them effectively into real-world applications.
We’re pragmatic problem solvers, clear and effective, avoiding superficial tech glamour without substance. We excel at breaking grand visions into small, actionable steps, fully aware that success never occurs in isolation. Each team member is an independent professional. FACILITY TEAM
We’re the ones who keep everything running – from cooling systems to coffee machines. We handle repairs, cleaning, and new installations that breathe fresh life into the building.
The Facility team at HiLASE is the technical backbone of the building – nothing works without us. We manage both the day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure development, from heating, cooling, AC systems, and power to maintenance, cleaning, renovations, and inspections. We also coordinate new technology installations that improve the building’s capabilities.
Our team of eight – technicians, building management, and cleaning staff – handles a wide range of responsibilities. Communication is key: we know some of our work can impact others, so we always aim for solutions that are fast, efficient, and considerate.

PROCUREMENT TEAM
We’re a team that’s not afraid to handle absolutely everything quickly and with a smile. We provide everything science needs to move forward, from pipettes to high-end instruments.
We’re a two-person procurement team, and our main goal is to keep research running smoothly through an efficient and professional purchasing process. We handle a wide range of goods and services from lab equipment and chemicals to IT technologies and custom-made scientific instruments.
Our work is dynamic and diverse, as every day brings new challenges in collaboration with scientific teams and suppliers from around the world. We deal with quotes, orders, invoices, delivery notes, customs processes, and unexpected situations – and that’s exactly what we enjoy.
When things get hectic, we support each other. We value open communication and teamwork. While we move at a fast pace, patience and empathy are essential – we know that research can be complex and stressful. Our job is to make purchasing easier, not harder.
Even though you won’t find us in the lab, research wouldn’t move forward without us. Whether scientists need a new microscope or just a toner cartridge, our goal is to be their reliable partner.
FINANCE TEAM
The team is involved in the complex management of financial processes and project administration at the HiLASE Centre, including planning and managing budgets, reporting to funders, asset management, and managing travel orders.
The agenda also includes the coordination of external audits and controls and the implementation of a quality management system according to ISO standards.
Our work consists of setting up internal financial rules, updating them regularly, and checking compliance. A key part of this is planning and coordinating the use of funds in day-to-day operations, research projects, and contract research.
Our team is involved in the preparation of project applications for development projects. It also ensures the collection and recording of data relating to the outputs of individual projects. It is responsible for managing travel orders and related agendas in accordance with internal rules. Maintains asset records and ensures their accuracy. Ensures regular internal and external financial reporting, economic analysis, and provides input for management decision-making. Actively participates in the preparation and implementation of tenders in the areas of finance, property, and project support. Coordinates internal and external audit and control processes, including the settlement of audit observations.
