Fiber Lasers – From the Laboratory to Space

HiLASE Centre, part of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, is a leader in applied laser research, contributing to a sustainable future, the development of both the Czech and European economies, and inspiring a new generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. Do you want to take part in developing lasers aimed not only at industry and science but also at space? In the Fiber Lasers Group at the HiLASE Centre, we build unique sources — from the first oscillators to cutting-edge sensors for space debris detection. This internship will open the door to the world of photonics and laser technologies with a bright future.

What will you do during the internship?

• You’ll take part in experiments with fiber lasers and optical systems.
• You’ll get hands-on experience with high-end optical and electronic equipment
• Depending on your level (B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D.), you’ll work on measurements, design, or development of laser components and systems
• You’ll gain insight into international projects such as LASAPP or NCK CAEPO

• Interest in photonics, physics, optics, or electronics
• Willingness to learn new things and courage to test your own ideas
• English language proficiency
• Knowledge corresponding to your level of study (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.)
